Tenants have inked more than 10,000 square feet of new leasing activity at a Route 35 shopping center in Wall, as its management continues a host of renovations at the property.
Jacobs Enterprises Inc. and Pierson Commercial, the center’s leasing team, announced the recent activity at Plaza 35 Shopping Center. The deals include new leases of about 2,500 square feet each with Health Fusion Wellness, Bubbakoo’s and Coastal Urgent Care, while T-Mobile is taking 2,000 square feet at the property.
The firms also said that Meemom’s, an existing tenant, is expanding by 500 square feet. The retailers join anchor tenant K-Mart at the property just south of 18th Avenue, along with Jersey Strong Gym, Pet Supplies Plus, GNC and Sport Clips Haircuts.
Jason Pierson and Ryan Starkman of Pierson Commercial make up the property’s leasing team on behalf of Jacobs Enterprises, which is based in Clifton.
“As a New Jersey shore town with a strong year-round population and day-time workforce, Wall has become one of Monmouth County’s best markets for retail, with growing competition for the relatively low amount of existing retail space available in the vicinity,” said George Jacobs, president of Jacobs Enterprises, which manages Plaza 35. “A number of high-end national brands have recently opened new locations in Wall, which compelled us to modernize and update Plaza 35 in order to capitalize on this market’s growth.”
Recently completed renovations at Plaza 35 include a new, more architecturally appealing façade and improved lighting and sidewalks to improve the pedestrian experience for shoppers, Jacobs said. Ownership has also improved the center’s parking lot, while new pylon signage and landscaping are in the works.
Jacobs and Pierson Commercial are marketing three retail units at Plaza 35, offering between 2,000 and 12,000 square feet. Ownership is seeking additional restaurant, medical, furniture/home goods apparel and experiential retailers to take advantage of the limited vacancy at the shopping center, touting its location near Route 18, Route 34 and the Garden State Parkway.
