Kokes Properties has started preleasing at a new 64-unit apartment building in Riverside, the latest addition to a well-known redevelopment site in the township.
The Brielle-based firm said it’s planning a summer delivery for the rental homes, part of what’s known as The Mill at Riverside at 136 South Fairview St. The new phase follows the completion of two townhome buildings with a combined 22 units, which leased up after hitting the market last fall.
The luxury residential complex has helped revitalize the historic Taubel’s Mill property about a mile and a half from Route 130, whose architecture was inspired by the iconic garment factory complex.
“Riverside was initially named ‘Progress’ when it was first settled, and that’s what we’re pursuing on a larger scale than just the property itself,” said Matthew Stephens, vice president of development for Kokes Properties. “This township has a rich history that we want to honor by redeveloping Taubel’s Mill thoughtfully and genuinely while making a meaningful contribution to the future.”
In a news release, Kokes said the one- and two-bedroom homes feature upscale materials and appliances. The Mill at Riverside will also have a 3,000-square-foot clubhouse that is slated to open in September and will include a fitness center and other shared amenities.
Meantime, the project’s final phases will bring 104 additional apartments for a total of 190 homes at the site. Residents of the property will be 30 minutes by car from Center City Philadelphia and within walking distance of NJ Transit’s Riverside light rail station.
