Kokes Properties is eyeing the start of a new self-storage project in Ocean County after recently securing approvals for the 45,000-square-foot facility.
The firm said the project, located at 2121 Lake Road in the Whiting section of Manchester Township, received preliminary and final approval on March 1. Extra Space Storage will manage the facility, which the developer expects to deliver next year.
“Kokes Properties is excited to continue its relationship with Extra Space on this exciting project in the Whiting section of Manchester Township,” said Michael Kokes, president of the Brielle-based firm. “This will be a fantastic use for the town of Whiting, which my family has a deep connection to. My grandfather started building in Whiting in the ’60s and our family has built over 10,000 homes in the surrounding area. This project will be accretive to our portfolio of self-storage and multifamily assets.”
Erin Simone of Maley-Givens PC serves as Kokes’ attorney for the project, while Jessica Staszewski of FWH Associates PA and Matthew Seckler of Stonefield Engineering & Design served as civil and traffic engineers, respectively. Gretchen Elton of SAA Architects designed the project.
