A longtime employee of Kokes Properties and its predecessor businesses has earned a promotion to the position of controller.

In her role with the Brielle-based firm, Stephanie Gulick-Katz oversees the many components of accounting, including job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and auditing, according to a news release. The promotion comes as she has played a crucial role in Kokes Properties’ recent expansion of its in-house construction and property management divisions.
“Stephanie has been a tremendous asset to our family and to my company, having worked for my dad for two decades, and now with me,” said Michael J. Kokes, president of Kokes Properties. “I am continually amazed by Stephanie’s extensive knowledge and work ethic.”
The firm added that Gulick-Katz’s knowledge of accounting has been invaluable as it has grown over the past few years. Kokes Properties, founded by the third-generation leader of one of the state’s iconic homebuilding companies, launched in 2015 as Homestake Capital LLC before being rebranded to its current name.
“Ever since joining the company in 2019, I have always been impressed by Stephanie’s tireless work ethic and attention-to-detail — two of the most important traits an effective controller can possess,” said Clark McIntyre, Kokes Properties’ vice president of operations.
“Stephanie has been a vital contributor toward our company’s rapid growth since its inception, and someone who will continue to play a crucial role in the expansion in the coming years,” he added. “This is a very well-deserved promotion for a valued member of our team, and I look forward to watching Stephanie make the most of this opportunity working alongside her.”
