Kushner Real Estate Group has unveiled a new public park outside its recently opened, 397-unit luxury apartment building in downtown Jersey City.
Known as Marin Green, the park offers more than an acre of green space for residents and neighbors of the development known as 485 Marin. The space is home to a grassy lawn, café-style seating and a children’s play area equipped with swings, a slide and a jungle gym, along with a dog park.
The debut follows KRE Group’s September opening of 485 Marin, which is among the newest high-end residential buildings in the city’s Hamilton Park neighborhood. Marin Green sits directly behind the development, which is now more than 90 percent leased.
“We’re excited to welcome the residents of Hamilton Park to Marin Green,” said Jonathan Kushner, president of KRE Group. “The opening of the park aligns with our goal of creating amenities and unique experiences that not only benefit the residents of our buildings but also their neighbors.”
KRE Group has included public spaces as part of its other recent developments in the city. The firm in summer 2017 unveiled Magnolia Landing, the renovated plaza adjacent to its Journal Squared project in the historic Journal Square neighborhood, which regularly serves as a venue for farmers markets, outdoor concerts and other seasonal events.
Marin Green, designed by Melillo & Bauer Associates, continues that effort.
“The city’s newest public park, Marin Green, provides additional space for children to play and neighbors to meet,” Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop said. “The city has made it a priority to provide new, green amenities, such as parks and bike paths, to our residents, and by working with developers we can continue to offer various options that strive to meet the needs of our residents.”
