Larken Associates has completed a new lease at a nine-building, 59,000-square-foot office complex about three miles outside Princeton.
The tenant, AKRF, is taking an undisclosed amount of space at the Montgomery Commons campus at Route 206 and Applegate Road in Montgomery. The consulting and professional services firm is relocating from another Princeton-area building along Route 1, Larken said, noting that the new space will allow the occupier to expand more efficiently as it assists with a host of public and private projects throughout the region.
“With the ongoing, albeit slower than expected re-entry of workers to their workplaces, we are seeing a tremendous focus placed on design features and layouts that promote safety and wellbeing,” said Rob Marek, executive vice president of Raider Realty, the in-house brokerage division of Larken Associates. “For many companies, campus-style offices like Montgomery Commons provide the ideal balance of location, safety and flexibility that they are seeking as they lease office space in these uncertain times.”
Established in 1981, AKRF specializes in environmental, planning and engineering services, according to a news release. Its new home is just off Route 206, a few miles north of downtown Princeton and less than a mile from Princeton Airport.
The Branchburg-based landlord announced the deal while touting the site’s flexible and modern office spaces, along with its Colonial Williamsburg-style design and the availability of offices with private entrances, bathrooms and kitchenettes. The complex also has dedicated, individual HVAC units for each suite.
“After more than three decades in office buildings along Princeton’s Route 1 corridor, I thought traffic and rent were the price to pay to be in Princeton — but we could not be happier with AKRF’s new Princeton office at Montgomery Commons,” said Jeffrey Entin, principal and senior vice president of AKRF. “Our space is professional, quiet, and convenient to downtown Princeton and our clients around the area. I was extremely pleased with the ease and professionalism at which we were able to negotiate our lease, and how quickly Larken was able to get us into our new space. We look forward to welcoming our clients and employees safely back to the office in the coming months.”
