Walters has kicked off leasing at the second piece of an income-restricted apartment property in the Manahawkin section of Stafford Township, delivering another 34 units to the site.
The developer said the new phase, located at 200 Back Road, has welcomed its first residents to a section that includes two completed buildings. The remaining two are slated to open next month, Walters said, noting that Cornerstone at Grassy Hollow II is available to individuals and families who do not make more than 60 percent of the area’s median income.
Rental rates are based on income, family size and the number of bedrooms.
“We’re seeing a great deal of interest in this high-quality community where residents can enjoy modern amenities and eco-conscious living,” said Joe Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for Walters, the Barnegat-based developer.
Located just off Route 9 and the Garden State Parkway, Cornerstone at Grassy Hollow includes one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. In addition to managing the property, Walters provides on-site supportive services for residents such as after-school programs, special interest clubs, career readiness, a food pantry program, eviction prevention and social services assistance.
Amenities, meantime, include a modern fitness center, a children’s tot lot, a basketball court and a clubhouse with computer workstations, according to a news release. Residents benefit from proximity to local shopping, dining and entertainment, as well as Long Beach Island’s beaches and other recreational facilities.
