Renters are snapping up apartments at LeFrak’s newest building in Jersey City, a 385-unit high-rise at the northern end of the famed Newport neighborhood.

Known as Bisby, the tower at 30 Park Lane North is 50 percent leased just two months after the developer began to market the property, the firm said. The milestone also comes before the start of move-ins, showing continued demand for high-end apartments along the Gold Coast.

“Today’s luxury rental market is extremely competitive, with discerning renters not only looking for beautifully designed homes, but also private outdoor space, amenities that cater to a work-from-home or hybrid lifestyle, and services that meet their every need,” said Richard Wernick, managing director of residential leasing for LeFrak. “Bisby has reached 50 percent leased in just two months — before move-ins have begun — far surpassing our initial goal and illustrating how this new development checks every box for today’s renters.

“Our residents value the opportunity to live on the waterfront in a new, well-appointed home with plentiful coworking areas and coveted outdoor spaces like pickleball courts, so it’s no surprise they’re willing to leave Manhattan to live this lifestyle in Jersey City.”

Designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, Bisby has floorplans ranging from studios to four-bedroom penthouses. Along with its upscale homes, the property has amenities such as a 33,000-square-foot rooftop outdoor fitness space, a sun deck and other spaces with sweeping views of Manhattan, as well as interior areas such as a golf simulator, a modern fitness center and a lounge with a gaming area.

Bisby sits just north of LeFrak’s four-acre Newport Green park and is among the latest additions to a neighborhood that has developed over 40 years, thanks in part to its easy access to Jersey City’s mass transit options. The 600-acre district now includes some 15 residential buildings and eight office towers that provide 8 million square feet of space for major employers, as well as sports and wellness offerings, Newport Centre Mall, the Newport River Market, recreation and year-round community programming.
