When it comes to getting things done in real estate development throughout New Jersey, Frank Giantomasi — proud son of Newark, Seton Hall Law grad and partner in the firm of Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi — is everyone’s go-to guy.
He’s been a part of so many projects, particularly in Newark’s booming downtown: The Hotel Indigo, One Theater Square at NJPAC, The Prudential Center and the ShopRite on Springfield Avenue are just a few of his contributions to his native city’s renaissance.
But here’s an insider tip: He’s also one of the funniest people on Earth.
And he’s a tireless supporter of Newark’s kids. Which is why Frank, despite his many obligations, agreed to be the star of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center’s First Annual Celebrity Roast. Some details: Stand-up stars including Tom Papa of Come to Papa fame, ESPN Sports Center correspondent Reese Waters, Judy Gold from Netflix’s Friends from College, America’s Got Talent alum, Tom Cotter, and Adam Ferrara, the co-host of Top Gear USA, will assemble to throw some zingers Frank’s way at this fundraiser and celebration on May 2 at NJPAC’s Victoria Theater.
They’ll be joined by Frank’s colleagues, family and associates, including Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Essex County Executive Joseph “Joe. D” DiVincenzo Jr., Jon Bramnick, minority leader of the State Assembly, developer par excellence, Marc Berson, and his fellow CS&G lawyers, Jeff Chiesa and Gemma Giantomasi. They’ll all get to give Frank the business.
At the end of the night, Frank gets to show off his own considerable comedic chops, with a come-back round at which he turns the tables on his tormenters.
The whole evening — including the show, plus dinner and cocktails too — is a benefit for NJPAC’s Arts Education programs, which bring music, dance and poetry into the lives and classrooms of Newark’s school children.
