A national fitness chain has picked its first New Jersey location, inking a 17,000-square-foot lease at a Bridgewater shopping center.
Levin Management Corp., which represented ownership, said The Zoo Health Club will join the tenant roster at the 219,000-square-foot Somerset Shopping Center. The chain’s new home sits at the junction of Route 202/206 and Route 28, offering a high-traffic location and affluent demographics.
Vanessa Fernandez, an LMC leasing representative, negotiated the long-term lease for the space at 365 Route 202. Jonathan Cashion of Katz & Associates represented the tenant.
“Located in the heart of one of the state’s wealthiest counties, Somerset Shopping Center is a stellar location for any retail tenant,” Fernandez said. “The Zoo Health Club is a growing, affordable fitness franchise with 48 clubs currently open nationwide.
“This newest location will complement the existing tenant mix at Somerset Shopping Center and serve as a great new amenity for those who live and work nearby.”
The Zoo Health Club offers cardiovascular, free weights and strength training equipment, along with personal training and classes such as indoor cycling, yoga and Zumba, LMC said in a news release. The concept also includes a children’s area.
“What makes The Zoo Health Club unique is that our workout model caters to all demographics,” said David Barone, who owns the Bridgewater franchise. “At this new facility, exercisers of all ages and fitness levels are welcome.
“Somerset Shopping Center is a well-located, well-maintained and accessible shopping center, making it the perfect location for this chain’s entry into the New Jersey market. I look forward to introducing The Zoo Health Club experience to residents of Bridgewater and surrounding communities.”
Somerset Shopping Center is anchored by Christmas Tree Shops, Barnes & Noble, Modell’s and the Gap and includes a mix of other retailers, restaurants and service providers.
