A martial arts studio has leased more than 1,300 square feet at a shopping center in New York’s Suffolk County, in a deal arranged by Levin Management Corp.
In a news release, North Plainfield-based LMC said Champions Martial Arts has opened its doors at Mayfair Shopping Center, a 222,000-square-foot property on Jericho Turnpike in Commack. It joins newly added tenants PGA TOUR Superstore and Sephora, which are now part of the center alongside Lidl, Planet Fitness and a host of other businesses.
LMC Senior Leasing Representative E.J. Moawad represented ownership in the 1,320-square-foot deal with Champions Martial Arts. Christopher Wierzbicki of Pliskin Realty & Development represented the tenant, which offers classes for children, teenagers and adults in disciplines such as Taekwondo and kickboxing programs.
“Champions Martial Arts is a well-established martial arts studio with an outstanding reputation, and it’s a great fit for the Commack community,” Moawad said. “This newest tenant also complements the retail experience at Mayfair Shopping Center, which offers something for everyone, from kids to adults. This drives significant, repeat traffic — an advantage for the property’s entire tenant base.”
LMC said Mayfair Shopping Center drew 2.1 million visits in 2023, citing real-time traffic data from Placer.ai. That marked a record for the property and a 19 percent increase over the prior year, thanks in part to a growing population of more than 202,000 people within a five-mile radius.
