Mandelbaum Salsburg P.C. has expanded its commercial real estate team with the hiring of a longtime industry attorney.

The firm, which is based in Roseland, announced that Paul Werther has joined its ranks as a member of the real estate practice group. He brings more than 30 years of experience counseling entrepreneurs, privately held companies and real estate developers, having been involved in some of the state’s largest development and redevelopment projects.
“Paul’s vast experience in all phases of real estate development projects as well as his counsel and participation in the management of several companies are excellent complements to our practices,” said Barry Mandelbaum, founding member and chairman of Mandelbaum Salsburg. “His unique set of skills enhances the services we offer our clients.”
Werther has extensive experience in business, commercial and financial negotiations and transactions, real estate development and complex commercial litigation, including workouts on behalf of financial institutions, according to a news release. He has worked on high-profile projects such as the redevelopment of the former Marine Ocean Terminal in Bayonne, the Hoboken Terminal and Rail Yard, Giants Stadium and Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster.
Along with his real estate and development practice, Werther has provided counsel and participated in the management of several successful companies, including a private jet charter and fixed base operator, food importer, food store chain, equipment manufacturer, a group purchasing organization, a technology company and several startups, the news release said. He has also managed the litigation of several matters on behalf of clients in the U.S. District Court of New Jersey as well as state courts.
In 2014, he was appointed to serve on the U.S. District Court Panel of Mediators for the District of New Jersey and has mediated more than 50 cases, Mandelbaum said. Werther also was an author of Franchise Desk Book: Selected State Laws, Commentary and Annotations.
“Mandelbaum Salsburg is well-known for its premier real estate practice group and I look forward to joining the team,” Werther said.
He received his J.D. from Seton Hall Law School and his B.A. from Boston College, the news release said, and is admitted to practice in New Jersey and the U.S. District Court of New Jersey.

The addition of Werther follows Mandelbaum’s recent hiring of Bruce Feffer, who joined the firm’s New York office in its real estate and corporate law practice groups. He brings more than 30 years of experience in practicing law in New York City, having represented developers, construction firms, property management companies, co-op corporations, condominium associations and residential and commercial building owners and tenants.
The firm also noted that Feffer has worked with hundreds of clients in buying, selling, financing and leasing all types of properties, including condominiums, houses, factories, warehouses, retail space and office buildings. He also will support the firm’s New Jersey office through business development and advisory roles.
“Bruce’s vast experience in real estate complements our existing practice and enhances the services we provide our clients,” Mandelbaum said. “His 30 plus years of practicing law in New York City expands the firm’s already growing New York footprint. We are thrilled to have him on board.”
The firm added that Feffer has devoted much of his career to working with clients from China, Hong Kong and the Asian-American community. He served on the board of the Manhattan chapter of the Asian Real Estate Association of America from 2013 to 2019 and is the legal adviser to the American Chinese Real Estate Society.
Feffer received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. from New York University, according to a news release. He is admitted to practice in New York and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of New York.
“Mandelbaum Salsburg is known for their top-notch real estate practice and I’m excited to be part of it,” Feffer said. “My work with the Asian-American community will be a great addition.”
