Matthews Real Estate Investment Services, a Nashville-based brokerage firm, has entered the New Jersey market with the hiring of two brokers in the region.
The recent additions include David Ferber as associate vice president and director, the company said, noting that he specializes in multifamily and mixed-use investment sales in Hudson County, northern New Jersey and the greater New York metropolitan area. Matthews added that, since 2019, he has sold more than 650 units for more than $150 million in transaction volume.
Ferber, formerly a key broker with Marcus & Millichap, currently has more than 1,100 units listed across 15 multifamily properties throughout the market, with a projected sales value of more than $200 million.
“Matthews’ technology, culture and support presented an incredible opportunity for me to build my brokerage business with an accelerated momentum,” Ferber said. He added: “My clients are my top priority, and I believe Matthews will further their financial success, giving access to more deal flow and more time to advise, negotiate and close deals.”
The firm has also hired 20-year commercial real estate veteran Patrick Forde, according to a news release. He specializes in multifamily and mixed-use properties across the region.
The Matthews New Jersey office is now open at Alfred Sanzari’s Glenpointe campus, at 300 Frank W. Burr Blvd. in Teaneck. Dennis Gralla and Jonathan Marks of Cresa represented the tenant.
The firm has also opened locations in Florida, in Tampa and Jacksonville, and in New York within the last six months, as it looks to grow its footprint on the East Coast.
“David and Patrick are exceptional additions to our multifamily division as we expand into the Northeast,” said Bill Pedersen, a managing director with Matthews. “They are uniquely skilled agents with an expert understanding of the sector and deep relationships within the region.”
