Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC has announced a new addition to its real estate and development practice.

In a news release, the West Orange-based firm said it has hired Jennifer Porter as a member in its real estate, development and land use group. She brings more than 15 years of experience representing builders and owners on development, zoning, land use, planning and permitting issues, with a focus on New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
“CSG has earned a reputation as having one of the preeminent real estate practices in the New York-New Jersey corridor and beyond,” Porter said. “I look forward to joining their distinguished roster of attorneys and collaborating with my new colleagues to expand our capabilities and best serve our clients throughout the region.”
Her experience in different markets has included projects such as the multistate expansion of a national financial services firm, resulting in the development of more than 85 new banking sites across the tristate area. CSG also touted her role in the redevelopment of Asbury Park’s waterfront.
“We welcome Jennifer as a key addition to our experienced bench of talented real estate, development and land use attorneys,” said Fredric P. Lavinthal, co-chair of CSG’s real estate, development and land use group. “She brings the unique ability of practicing land use law on a multijurisdictional basis — an extremely rare quality.”
Prior to joining CSG, Porter served as a director with a leading Newark-based, regional law firm. She is a graduate of Pace University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is licensed to practice in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
“This strategic addition of Jennifer and her dynamic real estate development practice will serve as a springboard for our clients seeking growth opportunities throughout the Mid-Atlantic region,” CSG Managing Member Daniel A. Schwartz said. “Jennifer will add tremendous value to our clients, and we are delighted to have her join us.”
