TFE Properties has leased 50 percent of a new rental project that will bring 174 townhome-style units to a location just outside downtown Somerville.
Known as Kirby Village, the property at 50 Kirby Ave. welcomed its first residents in July 2024, offering a mix of one- and two-bedroom homes across eight different layouts. Each unit includes a private entrance, with most having a private garage, while residents have access to a series of amenities and are less than a mile from Somerville’s central business district.
The developer expects to complete construction in May.
“We are extremely happy with the response to Kirby Village, and we’re thrilled that renters are enjoying everything about the community we’re building here,” said Scott Tajfel, regional property manager of TFE Properties. “We love hearing all the positive feedback from current and prospective tenants. They love that everything is brand new, and how the community includes amenities like an outdoor heated pool, dog park and a fully equipped fitness center.”
TFE, which currently has six apartment complexes open in New Jersey and another set to break ground in Lakewood, also noted that the Somerville property is minutes from Interstate 287, routes 202 and 206 and several NJ Transit train stations.
