The New Jersey Apartment Association has made a new addition to its influential government affairs team.
In a news release Monday, the NJAA announced that Andrew Musick has joined the organization as vice president of government affairs. In that role, he will be responsible for managing legislative and regulatory issues that impact the multifamily apartment industry in New Jersey.
“Andrew is a great addition to our growing NJAA team,” said David Brogan, the NJAA’s executive director. “He brings nearly a decade of government affairs and political action committee experience to our organization and will play an integral role in representing the multifamily industry in New Jersey.”
Musick joins the NJAA from the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, where he served as vice president.
“I am excited for the opportunity to work at NJAA,” Musick said. “The NJAA has grown in both stature and influence over the past five years and I believe that my skillset and background will enhance NJAA’s government affairs efforts.”
NJAA’s advocacy efforts gained national recognition in June when the National Apartment Association awarded the organization the Excel Award for Government Affairs, the news release said. Chosen among roughly 160 NAA affiliates nationally, NJAA was recognized for its ability to grow its political action committee and the design and written content of its PAC brochure.
The award marked the second time in three years that the NAA recognized NJAA for its government affairs initiatives.
Musick earned a master’s in public policy and a bachelor’s in political science from Monmouth University. He lives in Mercer County.
