A pediatric dental practice has taken nearly 4,000 square feet at a Mercer County shopping center, becoming the second health care tenant to join the property this year.
According to Levin Management Corp., which represents ownership at Ewing’s Capitol Plaza, Duck Duck Tooth Pediatric Dentistry represents a new business venture for experienced local practitioner Maya Thompson. The location at Route 206 and North Olden Avenue will provide both preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence — including those with special health care needs — in a modern environment.
LMC Leasing Representative Fred Younkin arranged the 3,900-square-foot deal on the landlord’s behalf, while Jon Porter of CARR represented the tenant.
“My goal at Duck Duck Tooth Pediatric Dentistry is to create a positive experience and to provide a solid dental foundation for children and families, so that when my patients are adults, they have the skills and confidence to take an active role in their oral health,” Thompson said. “As someone born and raised in the Trenton area, it is particularly exciting to come ‘home’ and create this wonderful space at Capitol Plaza where I can meet the dental needs of the community.”
Spanning 355,000 square feet, Capitol Plaza is home to anchors such as Marshall’s, Save A Lot, Planet Fitness, Dollar Tree and dd’s Discounts, according to a news release. Other tenants include Forman Mills, American Furniture, Harbor Freight Tools, Rainbow, Snipes, Foot Locker, Pork Chop’s BBQ and Wingstop, along with a mix of service and restaurant tenants as well as an on-site office component that houses Jersey College School of Nursing.
LMC currently is marketing retail spaces at Capitol Plaza ranging from 5,800 to 13,300 square feet. The property draws 2.1 million visitors per year, the firm said, citing real-time traffic data from Placer.ai.
“Health care concepts contribute significantly to a retail property, creating a ‘one-stop’ destination where patients can shop, dine and access care all in one convenient location,” Younkin said, adding that America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses also recently opened at the property. “We are extremely pleased to have assisted Dr. Thompson in selecting the right location for her new business.”
