A property management veteran has joined Pennrose to oversee thousands of multifamily units in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the company said Friday.
Barry Weaver, who has more than 25 years of leadership experience in multifamily property management, comes to Pennrose from Columbia Residential in Atlanta. In his new role as vice president of operations, he will oversee nearly 60 properties and 3,500 units for the Philadelphia-based developer.
Weaver’s experience includes overseeing a national portfolio of more than 12,000 units, Pennrose said in a news release. He has managed conventional communities and affordable housing programs.
“Barry is an exceptionally qualified leader, with expert knowledge of the programs within our industry,” Lee J. Felgar, president of Pennrose Management Co., said in a prepared statement. “We are looking forward to utilizing all of his skills and knowledge to support our property teams in these regions.”
With Columbia Residential, Weaver was responsible for leadership of Columbia Residential Property Management Inc. The role included operations, finance, compliance, resident services, capital projects, information technology and security.
Prior to that, he held executive positons with Westlake Housing LP and Volunteers of America, the news release said. During his tenure with Volunteers of America, Weaver managed the recovery of 1,000 apartments in New Orleans devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
