The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has hired Grid Real Estate LLC as the retail leasing agent for the busy Journal Square Transportation Center in Jersey City.
In a news release, the real estate services firm noted that the 10-story complex includes 50,100 square feet of commercial space alongside the busy PATH train and bus station. Pre-pandemic, some 56,000 commuters on average boarded PATH trains at Journal Square on weekdays to destinations such as Lower and Midtown Manhattan, Hoboken and Newark.
The retail and office space is located on the PATH concourse and plaza levels.
“We are excited to work with the Port Authority and PATH on this important assignment,” said Bob Antonicello, president of Jersey City-based Grid Real Estate. “The Journal Square Transportation Center is critical to the renaissance of the Journal Square CBD. With Journal Square entering a new phase of its redevelopment, as an entertainment and cultural center, the Journal Square Transportation Center will play an even bigger role as the center of the growing entertainment and cultural center.”
