Urban Edge Properties has reached full occupancy at a newly redeveloped shopping center in Kearny, welcoming five new tenants to the nearly 125,000-square-foot property.
According to the real estate investment trust, the additions at Kearny Commons include a 10,025-square-foot Ulta Beauty store. The operator joins Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, AT&T, European Wax Center, &Pizza and Torshi’s, a Mediterrean grill concept, as new tenants at 175 Passaic Ave., where Urban Edge recently added 20,000 square feet of inline space.
“Our strategy to continue to unlock value from our well-located existing properties through creative redevelopment is well-evidenced with the successful lease-up at Kearny Commons,” said Justin Lustig, vice president of leasing for Urban Edge. “The mix of essentials with beauty fitness and mobile services, alongside dining makes the center a daily must-visit for area residents.”
In a news release, the REIT said the new space is adjacent to an existing Marshalls and L.A. Fitness. It sought to expand the property as a way to capitalize on a location just northeast of Newark and in one of the state’s most densely populated regions.
Jerry Welkis of Welco Realty represented Urban Edge in the lease-up.
