Hollister Construction Services has made another addition to its team with the hiring of a new purchasing manager.
The construction management firm, which is based in Parsippany, announced that Dave Miller has joined its ranks. In the new role, he will develop, coordinate and manage all vendor partner relationships, working closely with the estimating and delivery teams to ensure Hollister provides its clients and partners with the best value.
Miller brings more than 17 years of experience in the construction industry, estimating, purchasing and providing field support on an array of projects within the residential, education, hospitality, corporate, retail and health care sectors, Hollister said in a news release.
“We are very excited to have Dave join our team and are confident his invaluable industry experience will contribute significantly to our continuous growth and success,” Brendan Murray, Hollister’s president, said in a prepared statement. “Welcome aboard Dave!”
Miller’s experience includes eight years as a purchasing agent at a leading construction management firm in New York, where he was responsible for bidding and awarding all vendor contracts, the news release said. He was also instrumental in developing purchasing strategies and implementing successful negotiation tactics.
The industry veteran was also a cost engineer and lead estimator with an international construction services company, leading cost efforts for projects in New York City. Those projects included Memorial Sloan Kettering’s $120 million lab research building and a five-star, $300 million luxury hotel for Shangri La New York.
Miller graduated from the City College of New York with bachelor of science and bachelor of architecture degrees in architecture, the news release said. He is also a past recipient of several awards, including the Charles E. Inniss Architectural Fellowship Award.
