A project that will bring nearly 60,000 square feet of new industrial space to Moonachie is now underway, according to a team with Premier Design + Build Group.
In a news release last week, the firm said it will begin by clearing three existing structures from the property before starting construction on the new facility. It’s doing so on behalf of LBA Logistics, an Irvine, California-based developer that purchased the site early last year.
Located at 100 Anderson Ave., the property sits about a half-mile east of Route 17 and will provide users with quick access to Interstate 80, Manhattan and other destinations.
In a news release, Premier said the new 59,800-square-foot building will have six dock positions, one drive-in door and seven entrances. The design calls for warehouse space with 40-foot clear ceiling heights, private and open office space and conference and break rooms.
Premier will construct the facility using precast concrete panels, while it will also demolish existing asphalt on the 2.99-acre site and create new parking lots to accommodate 45 parking stalls for cars, the news release said. Premier is the project’s general contractor, with Cindy Dunson serving as project manager and working with project superintendent Bill Cheval and David Gasson, vice president for Northeast operations.
The company is working with KSS Architects for design and MEP and structural engineering services, the news release said. Bohler Engineering is providing civil engineering services.
Completion is slated for June 2023.
