A new 13-story apartment and commercial building in Cliffside Park is slated to open its doors this summer after more than a decade of delays, according to a published report.
Known as Towne Center, the project will deliver 277 luxury rental units and some 50,000 square feet of retail and office space to the borough’s main business district on Anderson Avenue, according to a recent report by NorthJersey.com. The website said preleasing is slated to begin on May 1 for occupancy in July.
Borough officials first approved the project in 2002, the report said, quoting area business owners and residents who have been frustrated by delays such as financial setbacks and the recession. But they also expressed excitement about the new high-income residents that are expected to come to the neighborhood as tenants in the building.
