Resource Realty of Northern New Jersey is once again giving back during the holiday season, thanks in large part to its fellow tenants at a Parsippany office building.
The brokerage firm this year teamed with TeamPAR, a New Jersey-based flooring solution company, to conduct a toy drive on behalf of the Jersey Battered Women’s Shelter. To that end, it called upon businesses at 299 Cherry Hill Road to drop off items in the building’s lobby or use the “shop and ship” option through the online wish list, stockpiling gifts for the nonprofit through Dec. 10.
Following the final collection date and delivery to JBWS, the organization will invite mothers and grandparents to select gifts to present to their children during the holidays.
“Volunteering is a powerful means of helping others,” said Linda Julien, RRNNJ’s office manager, who is spearheading the annual toy drive for the seventh year. “Through the gift of our time, generosity and energy, we can make a tangible impact — immediate and long term — on our community.”
Tom Consiglio, RRNNJ founder and principal, added: “By supporting local causes and investing in the future of our communities where our team members as well as landlords, tenants and investors reside and work, Resource Realty aims to create a lasting legacy of positive change. There is no doubt our success has — and continues to be — intertwined with the success of our community. At Resource Realty, we have always felt social responsibility is not only admirable, it is essential.”
With a focus on the New Jersey commercial real estate landscape, Resource Realty pays it forward in support of the communities that have contributed to its growth over the course of nearly 35 years, according to a news release. It pointed to United Way of Northern New Jersey, an organization that’s near and dear to the industry and hosts a marquee fundraiser each spring in conjunction with the real estate sector.
RRNNJ Principal Scott Peck has been an active member of United Way’s real estate committee for more than 25 years, working alongside volunteers from local corporations and firms for a program that, since its inception, has raised more than $4.5 million in support of families, individuals and nonprofit partners.
“Through our involvement, we contribute to vital community programs that address critical social issues such as poverty, homelessness and education,” Peck said. “The primary goal of our committee is to help regional area families that are vital to our community and are employed but struggling. These workers include first responders, health care, daycare providers and others. The funds raised from our annual CRE Impact Award benefit these families. In addition, our CRE group participates in local improvement projects to help these families with their homes, and/or facilities such as daycare.”
