RPM Development has sold 90 percent of the homes at its upscale residential project in Monmouth County, part of the 1,126-acre historic Fort Monmouth property.
Known as East Gate, the development includes a mix of townhomes and single-family detached units within the Oceanport section of the former U.S. Army base. RPM hailed the success of the collection of 68 luxury homes, which has drawn nearly 100 residents to the site.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the success of East Gate and are proud of its role in placing Fort Monmouth firmly on the Jersey Shore’s residential map,” said Michael Hong, assistant vice president of development at RPM. “While we knew these homes would lure those seeking something special in the New Jersey housing market, we also wanted to ensure we created a perfect neighborhood environment to compliment the residences. We believe we’ve accomplished that goal by incorporating East Gate Park, as well as leveraging the proximity to Parkers Creek.”
East Gate, the first residential component to be introduced within the Fort Monmouth redevelopment, has remaining homes priced from the upper $700,000s, according to a news release. All the remaining homes are in Officer’s Row, a collection of century-old residences that once housed high-ranking officers.
Palermo Edwards Architecture has remodeled the buildings’ interiors to create new two- and three-story homes with high-end kitchens and bathrooms and luxury interior finishes. CB New Homes of Florham Park serves as the complex’s marketing and sales agent.
Fort Monmouth, which also includes parts of Eatontown and Tinton Falls, was closed by the military in 2011 as part of a federal base realignment. Led by the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority, or FMERA, the state has overseen efforts to reposition the property and has several other commercial and residential projects moving through its pipeline.
RPM launched sales at East Gate in 2018, citing the property’s location minutes from nearby beaches and the banks of the Shrewsbury River, along with its proximity to the entertainment, dining and culture of the fort and surrounding towns.
