Russo Development has completed a new 209-unit luxury apartment building at the foot of the Orange train station, marking the first of two phases in the city’s burgeoning downtown.
Known as Essex & Crane, the property at 377 Crane St. has floorplans ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, while residents have access to 23,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space. It also joins the growing list of redevelopment projects near the city’s Main Street, which benefits from both mass transit access and a location just off Interstate 280.
The project results from a partnership between Russo and Dinallo Construction Corp.
“We are very excited to bring our signature Vermella brand with generous well-designed amenities, high-quality building finishes and a unique lifestyle experience which includes plentiful resident events and activations to Orange’s thriving transit village,” said Adam Pasternack, president of Russo Property Management.
Designed by MHS Architecture, the property has amenities such as elevated outdoor terraces, grilling stations, a high-end fitness center and structured parking. Residents who work remotely will also have access to more than 2,000 square feet of private workspaces, conference rooms and a full-service convenience store option called Tulu, which offers food choices and business service options.
Russo noted that the Orange train station provides an eight-minute trip to Newark and a 30-minute ride to Midtown Manhattan. Renters, meantime, are close to local destinations such as Military Park Commons, Rosa Parks Central Community School, the Orange Public Library and the abundant arts and entertainment offerings in Newark.
