TRANSACTION SPOTLIGHT
Kislak arranged the sale of a nearly completed, 242-unit luxury multifamily building in Carteret, NJ for $87.5 million with senior vice president Barry Waisbrod handling the assignment. Now known as The Botanic, the property was in lease-up at the time of the sale. It followed the seller’s sale to the same purchaser of The Lofts at Middlesex, a new 146-unit multifamily property in Middlesex, NJ, which sale was also arranged by Kislak with Mr. Waisbrod also handling the assignment.
CREATIVE SOLUTION
Kislak sold an older Passaic County, NJ multifamily property on behalf of a longtime client with senior vice president Robert Squires handling the assignment. Following the sale, the seller needed an I.R.C. Section 1031 like-kind exchange, ideally a new multifamily property. Mr. Squires partnered with executive vice president Joni Sweetwood, who had recently been engaged to market Mosaic on Main, a new luxury multifamily property in Bound Brook, on behalf of another longtime client. Together, Mr. Squires and Ms. Sweetwood arranged the $22 million sale of the property, enabling the Passaic County seller to successfully complete a $36 million exchange.
