Urban Edge Properties has leased more than 3,500 square feet in East Hanover to 85 Degree Bakery Café, providing the chain with its first northern New Jersey location.
The operator, which is based in Taiwan, is planning a 2024 opening at Hanover Commons at 200-240 Route 10 West, according to a news release. The 3,507-square-foot space will be just its second East Coast location for a concept that has a large following on the West Coast and offers hand-crafted beverages, pastries and other baked goods.
Amy B. Staats of Katz & Associates represented the tenant.
“There is much anticipation for this concept and their expansion to the East Coast,” said Justin Lustig, vice president of leasing for Urban Edge Properties. “Hanover Commons provides a terrific environment to introduce their much-loved pastries and beverages to this property with high-traffic anchors and adjacent complementary uses.”
Founded in 2004, 85 Degree Bakery got its name from the optimal coffee brewing temperature, according to a news release. The chain experienced rapid expansion both in Taiwan and internationally, building a footprint that now spans more than 1,000 locations worldwide.
At Hanover Commons, the company will join tenants such as Home Depot, Dick’s, Marshalls and Saks OFF 5th.
