Urban Edge Properties has signed two new deals with Atlantic Health System, including a lease for an 18,000-square-foot facility at a large shopping center in Manalapan.
According to a news release, the provider is opening the multispecialty care center at 15 Route 9 South in collaboration with CentraState Healthcare System. The deal leaves Manalapan Commons, a 207,604-square-foot open-air property, with just one vacancy.
In the second lease, Atlantic Health has opened a 4,517-square-foot urgent care clinic at Urban Edge’s Greenbrook Commons at 1601 Route 22 West in Watchung.
“As Atlantic Health focuses on providing patients with accessible care in ways that are more convenient to them in central New Jersey, these Manalapan and Watchung locations offer significant new opportunities to help them meet existing and new patients,” said Justin Lustig, vice president of leasing for Urban Edge. “Our partnership with this growing health care system demonstrates the power of adding essential services such as health care to our retail destinations.”
In announcing the deals, Urban Edge noted that the Manalapan facility will offer educational programs and support groups as well as health screenings, fitness classes and other resources to help individuals maintain a healthy lifestyle. The center joins a 25.3-acre property that serves Manalapan and portions of Upper Freehold, Monroe, Marlboro and Englishtown, with anchors including Best Buy, PetSmart, Five Below and Raymour & Flanigan.
Urban Edge’s Leigh Lyons handled the transaction on ownership’s behalf.
