A planned retail center in Wayne has joined the growing list of redevelopment projects in the municipality, thanks in large part to a locally based construction firm led by township residents.
DSW is joining the tenant roster at a new 150,150-square-foot shopping center in Parsippany, where it has committed to more than 19,000 square feet.
The changing face of retail is on full display at the North Village Shopping Center on Route 1, where a new Trader Joe’s recently opened in a space vacated by Barnes & Noble. The center has now attracted another leading name in retail — all part of an effort by its management team to reinvent the property for the second time in less than 20 years.
Following an environmental cleanup, a lengthy entitlement process and several hurdles along the way, Key Properties has marked the completion of a 107,000-square-foot shopping center known as Hanover Crossroads. The complex at 110 East Hanover Ave. became fully leased within 15 months of breaking ground — anchored by major tenants such as T.J.Maxx, HomeGoods, QuickChek and AutoZone — as other new retail projects have taken shape nearby.
