A new Morristown-based brokerage firm is marking its first two deals and a series of new assignments in the region after launching the business at the start of 2024.
The company, SAGE Investment Real Estate Advisors, is the brainchild of industry veterans Steve Tragash and Greg Pine, who founded the startup after 17 years together at Gebroe-Hammer Associates in Livingston. They did so after gathering feedback through interviews with generational and institutional sellers and a full range of investors, they said, seeking to augment their collective experience and career deal volume spanning several billion dollars.
“We wanted to get a handle on what today’s sellers and investors really want from their brokerage firm, not what they have had to settle for,” Pine said. “New year, new brokerage firm offering a ‘fresh take’ on the seller/buyer experience. We strongly believe in and know there is demand for our product. As further proof, thankfully we already have a number of property marketing assignments and closed deals.”
Tragash and Pine said they’re focused on the New Jersey and Pennsylvania markets. They’ve already closed two deals in northern New Jersey, including the sale of the 59-unit Metropolitan Lofts at 11 DeHart St. in Morristown, which Tragash brokered as part of a team that also included Gebroe-Hammer and Berkadia.
“We are excited about bringing a new energy to the commercial real estate brokerage sector as a whole, and the multifamily-focused category specifically,” said Tragash, who noted the firm also handles shopping centers, mixed-use developments, industrial assets and land for future development. “We want our focus to constantly be on how can we continue to improve and evolve both in business and as people — taking what we’ve learned from our dealings with current and prospective clients.”
