Brokerage firm Weiss Realty is touting a year in which it completed nearly 40,000 square feet of leasing, along with property sales totaling more than $35 million in value.
With deals ranging from Bergen to Monmouth counties, the leasing activity include 23,000 square feet of office and retail deals and 16,025 square feet of medical transactions, the firm said in a news release. Most recently, Weiss brokered a 14,375-square-foot lease at 3196 Kennedy Blvd. in Union City with Sanitas of New Jersey LLC, an independent health care organization.

Weiss also inked 19,856 square feet in new leasing at the Colonial Village Office Park in Edison, where it serves as leasing and managing agent, the news release said. New businesses at the complex include Edo Sushi and Fat Cup, a fast food restaurant that serves Japanese and Korean cuisine.
“We are very proud of our accomplishments that demonstrate our expertise, commitment and unique professionalism which Weiss Realty brings to the marketplace,” said Jaime Weiss, president of the Moonachie-based firm. He later added: “Overall, 2017 was very successful. Our firm is well-poised to continue that momentum into 2018.”
The firm’s investment sales activity in 2017 was highlighted by the $8.6 million sale of a 48,492-square-foot office building at 1800-1836 West Lake Ave. in Neptune. Private investors acquired the property, which is 98 percent occupied by tenants such as Hackensack Meridian Health, the state Department of Treasury and West Lake Pharmacy.

In another transaction, Weiss arranged the $6.35 million sale of the 130,180-square-foot, two-story office building at 34 Maple Ave. in Pine Brook. Prior to the deal, Weiss acted as the exclusive property manager and leasing agent.
“We recognized the properties flexible zoning, making the building ideally suited for a variety of industrial and office uses and the buildings visibility on Route 80 created a good buying opportunity to the buyers, iStar Realty LLC,” said Matthew Weiss, vice president of the firm.
