The developer of a 60-unit apartment building in Somerville has leased up the property, touting its downtown location and the borough’s growing popularity among young renters.
In a recent announcement, Weiss Properties said the milestone comes eight months after the debut of The Davenport, which sits at 21 Davenport St. It now has a wait list for the collection of one- and two-bedroom units, where residents can access amenities such as a fitness center, a clubroom, an outdoor courtyard and a pet wash station.
“The choice between suburban and urban living no longer exists,” said Robert Weiss, president of New Brunswick-based Weiss Properties. “Life at the Davenport provides the best of all worlds — with only 60 units, residents have a sense of privacy but yet enjoy every conceivable amenity, whether it be in the building itself or just steps to Main Street.”
The upscale homes at The Davenport are minutes from the Somerville train station, providing easy access for New York City commuters. Residents are also steps from Main Street and the dining, retail and cultural offerings of downtown Somerville.
