A chain of cryotherapy studios has expanded into New Jersey, having signed a 1,400-square-foot lease at a Millburn shopping center.
According to Newmark, which represented Icebox Cryotherapy in the deal, the operator’s new space at 800 Morris Turnpike is part of a larger national brand roll-out. The site provides it with strong visibility along a prime retail corridor, a location near Route 24 and Interstate 78 and access to an affluent consumer base.
Newmark Managing Director Dean Tselepis and Associate Joe Brendel completed the assignment locally, while Director Rhett Batanides of the firm’s Charlotte office is leading the national expansion for Icebox.
“The service and wellness sectors continue to evolve, being both economical and luxurious, and cryotherapy is a fine example of a luxury service that is thriving,” Tselepis said.
The brokerage team noted that Icebox is the first brick-and-mortar retail cryotherapy studio in the U.S. and offers clients a team of cryotherapy professionals in an upbeat spa-like setting. Its founder, Alia Alston, launched the business after using cryotherapy treatments to help recover from a debilitating neck injury.
At the Plaza at Short Hills, Icebox joins tenants including SoulCycle, Club Pilates, Kings Supermarket and Chase Bank.
“The new location was within a 10-minute drive from the franchisee’s hometown and allowed them to hit the ground running with a built-in network of fellow business people and roots throughout the community,” Brendel said.
