Larken Associates has leased up nearly 600,000 square feet of flex industrial space in Hillsborough thanks to an expansion by an ecommerce and third-party logistics firm.
According to a news release, Samphin LLC now occupies 2,270 square feet at Hillsborough Business Center on Stryker Lane, where it supports direct-to-consumer sales with services such as sourcing, bundling and fulfilling products for major online marketplaces. That follows its initial 1,500-square-foot lease at the 100-acre complex, whose 27 buildings total 596,315 square feet.
Rob Marek, executive vice president of Larken’s commercial division, negotiated the transaction, noting that the campus is just off Route 206 and provides easy access to other nearby highways. Each building has 18- to 20-foot clear ceiling heights, a full wet system with central station monitoring, heavy floor loads, tailboard and/or drive-in doors and separate utilities and entrances for each tenant.
In addition, the center has abundant parking throughout as well as an on-site fitness center and self-storage.
“Samphin’s lease is a great example of the continued demand we’re seeing from ecommerce and distribution users for flexible industrial space in the Somerset County market,” Marek said. “Hillsborough Business Center offers the functionality and accessibility that businesses need to operate efficiently, and reaching full occupancy reflects the property’s strong appeal.”
