Walters is marking a new addition to its footprint in southern New Jersey with the debut of Cornerstone at Hainesport, a 72-unit affordable rental property in Burlington County.
The developer recently joined local officials and team members to unveil the project, at 2801 Creek Road, where residents can choose from a mix of upscale one-, two- and three-bedroom homes. It noted that the six-building complex is already 70 percent occupied, reflecting the strong demand for high-quality income-restricted housing in the region.
“We are proud to create a place that families can call home, and we remain committed to being a long-term presence in this community,” said Joseph Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for Walters. “Throughout the process, we worked closely with local officials and community stakeholders to ensure this project reflected the needs and priorities of Hainesport.”
Located along the banks of the Rancocas Creek, Cornerstone at Hainesport is open to individuals and families that do not make more than 60 percent of the area’s median income, according to a news release. The property is certified on the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design scale, with amenities such as a high-end fitness center, a children’s playground, a grilling area and a community clubhouse with computer workstations.
Walters added that apartments are equipped with in-unit washers and dryers, while a staffed social service coordinator is available upon request. The developer also noted that Hainesport sits near the Mount Laurel border, offering a blend of small-town charm and modern convenience with proximity to shopping, dining, health care services and recreational opportunities and easy access to routes 38 and 541 and Interstate 295, providing direct connections to Philadelphia and major employment centers throughout South Jersey.
Those on hand for the recent ribbon cutting ceremony included Hainesport Township Mayor Andy Dick, Committeewoman Anna Evans and Committeeman Ken Montgomery as well as Burlington County Division of Construction Services and Lumberton EMS Station 139 personnel.
