Larken Associates has secured a new medical office tenant, inking a lease with a mental health practice that will relocate to the firm’s Montgomery Commons property.
The provider, The Center for Therapy and Counseling Services, will use the suite on Applegate Road to expand access to in-person care for clients throughout the Princeton area and central New Jersey. It’s now among the newest tenants at the nine-building complex off Route 206, which has built-to-suit suites with private bathrooms and kitchenettes, separate utilities and 219 on-site parking spaces, along with a newly renovated space option with upgraded flooring, countertops, cabinets and lighting.
Rob Marek, executive vice president of Larken Associates’ commercial division, represented the firm in the 2,012-square-foot deal. Giancarlo Benitez of Real Broker LLC represented the tenant, which provides individual, couple and family therapy both in-person and virtually, as well as counseling on demand, therapy groups and psychiatric services for clients of all ages and backgrounds.
“As providers increasingly shift care delivery from traditional hospital campuses to community-based offices, we’re seeing demand for premier and easily accessible medical office space continue to grow,” Marek said. “Montgomery Commons is exactly the kind of setting that supports this shift, and The Center for Therapy and Counseling Services is a perfect example of a provider meeting clients where they can feel most comfortable.”
Larken, which is based in Branchburg, noted that the practice and other tenants at the property are minutes from hotels, restaurants, banking, shopping and retail services. Designed in the style of Colonial Williamsburg, the collection of one- and two-story medical and office buildings is just minutes from downtown Princeton and less than a mile from Princeton Airport.
The Center for Therapy and Counseling Services, which provides flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, also maintains specialized programming spanning autism support, adult trauma care and workplace mental health.
“We are a trusted, values-driven and clinically integrated therapy home with real relationships, specialty programs, a community presence and continuity of care,” said Melissa Higgins, the center’s founder and CEO. “We are very excited to have our new office at Montgomery Commons and continue to provide our patients with personalized care.”
