Environmental consulting firm Verdantas has found a new home in Central Jersey after leasing nearly 11,000 square feet of office space in Bridgewater.
According to Avison Young, which represented the tenant, the deal at 1044 Route 22 allows the practice to consolidate some 50 to 60 employees currently spread across Somerville, Bedminster and Warren into a single, centrally located workplace. Verdantas expects to occupy the new partial first-floor space in September, having closed the 10,500-square-foot lease this past March.
Avison Young’s Sean Cahill and Judd McArthur, who are based in Connecticut, completed the deal on Verdantas’ behalf. Newmark Senior Managing Director Dan Reider represented the landlord, Signature Acquisitions
“Verdantas was able to take advantage of favorable suburban office market conditions to upgrade from multiple smaller, legacy locations into a centrally located Class A office environment,” said Cahill, a principal at Avison Young. “The new space aligns with both the company’s current needs and its long-term workplace standards, while also providing improved accessibility for employees and clients.”
Avison Young said it provides Verdantas with national lease administration, transaction management and project management services supporting the firm’s efforts to optimize and integrate its office portfolio as it continues to grow through acquisition. That has included nearly a dozen deals that the brokerage team has closed since early last year, helping Verdantas secure spaces in California, Colorado, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Maine and Florida.
The practice operates more than 100 locations across the United States, delivering integrated environmental science, engineering and consulting solutions to a broad range of public- and private-sector clients, according to a news release. It selected the new Bridgewater office thanks to its central location, quality of construction and proximity to the firm’s regional workforce and clientele.
“As Verdantas continues to grow, we’re making thoughtful investments in spaces that bring teams together and better support collaboration across the organization,” said Abby Yozwiak, vice president of strategic operations at Verdantas. “Our new and consolidated facilities are designed not only to enhance the employee experience, but also create sustainable, high-performing environments that help us better serve our clients. With each relocation, we’re investing in spaces that reflect our values and position us for continued success.”
