Barnes & Noble has found a new home for its Paramus store after leasing 35,000 square feet on Route 17, in a newly announced deal by The Goldstein Group.
According to the brokers, the bookseller has backfilled a former Big Lots store at 634 Route 17 North. It has relocated from 765 Route 17 South and will have a café and other departments found in the old store, including a large kids’ section and a toys and games department, with a light and airy design that features a network of book nooks throughout the space.
The Goldstein Group Vice President Marc Palestina and President Chuck Lanyard represented Barne & Noble, while Joe Dougherty of Metro Commercial represented Big Lots as the landlord.
“I am pleased to work with Barnes & Noble in their efforts to expand its footprint in New Jersey as well as reposition some of the existing locations,” Palestina said. “Paramus has always been a successful market for them and I take great pleasure knowing that I was able to find them the right location to continue that success. The new store looks beautiful and they are off to an amazing start.”
The Goldstein Group also noted the store is slated to have a used book department, as the old location did, but that it may not be ready until the start of the new year. Unlike the previous site, the new store won’t have a music department, but it will have an entertainment area with a vinyl selection.
