A new eatery is coming to the ground floor of a recently opened luxury apartment complex along the banks of the Hackensack River in Bogota.
PCD Development, the firm behind what’s known as The Atwater, said Bogota Press will bring a neighborhood café concept to the sprawling property at 1000 West Fort Lee Road. Developed by local residents and owners Sherry and Eric Solomov, the space will open this fall with what they described as a modern aesthetic with a retro twist, offering communal tables, outdoor seating and a welcoming environment.
“Bogota Press is truly about food, community and creating a sense of togetherness,” said Sherry Solomov, who previously owned the acclaimed Brooklyn Burgers & Beer restaurant in Park Slope, Brooklyn, with her husband Eric Solomov. “We’re blending innovative specialty coffees and delicious comfort food with a trendy-but-approachable atmosphere that can be enjoyed here or on the go. We hope to be an anchor for the community, providing a comfortable gathering place that brings back human interaction while also participating with local organizations and supporting our customer base. In short, we’re looking to be an active and contributing member of the community.”
In a news release, Solomov said Bogota Press will also pursue civic-minded partnerships with neighborhood organizations to provide youth employment opportunities and nurture entrepreneurial skills. The owners, meantime, are preparing to create a scholarship program for well-performing local students.
The announcement comes as The Atwater has leased more than 80 percent of its upscale homes, as of late September. Atwater residents will be able to use a custom app to order and pay in advance for food items that will be ready when they arrive, adding to a list of services and offerings that also includes more than 30,000 square feet of amenity spaces.
Bogota Press will use locally sourced ingredients and partner with local vendors and premium brands from around the region to offer a comprehensive menu, the news release said. Healthy breakfast items will be complemented by Italian coffee, fresh bread that will be delivered daily, pressed sandwiches and hand-made desserts.
“We’re excited to welcome Bogota Press to The Atwater and are proud to work with an ownership group that cares deeply about our residents and members of the community,” said Jonathan Stein, founder and managing member of PCD Development. “This will be a tremendous asset to our residents who will have direct access to an exceptional eatery that has great food and allows them to integrate into the local environment and feel at home in Bogota.”
The Atwater boasts a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, each with a private balcony or patio, with monthly rents startin in the $2,200s.
Bogota apartments nearly 75 percent leased, with more than 200 units rented
