A software company is staying in place after renewing its lease at a prominent Jersey City office tower, according to brokers with Cushman & Wakefield.
The tenant, Avepoint, will continue to occupy 15,467 square feet on part of the 14th floor at 525 Washington Blvd. The long-term deal follows a recent multimillion-dollar upgrade by the landlord, BentallGreenOak, of what’s known as Newport Tower that resulted in a newly designed building entrance, lobby and tenant amenity center.
Cushman & Wakefield’s David DeMatteis, Robert Rudin, Mina Shehata and Dirk Hrobsky represented ownership in the transaction with Avepoint.
“Avepoint’s renewal at Newport Tower is a great indicator of Jersey City companies committing to their workplace long-term,” said DeMatteis.
In a news release, C&W noted that Newport Tower is home to amenities such as a café, a game room, co-working spaces, high-end meeting rooms, a conference center and a tenant lounge. The building provides tenants with access to the PATH train, the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail and NJ Transit service at Hoboken Terminal.
