A real estate and land use attorney in Day Pitney LLP’s Parsippany office has taken over a key position with the New Jersey State Bar Association.

The firm announced that Craig Gianetti, a partner, has been elected to serve as chair of the association’s land use law section. He is a longstanding board member of the section and will now lead a group focused on issues involving or related to land use law, including reviewing statutory developments and attempting to reduce or eliminate costs and delays associated with the approval process.
Gianetti has also served as secretary and vice chair of the section. As chair, he succeeds Jennifer Mazawey of Genova Burns.
“I am truly honored to serve as the next chair of the land use section of the New Jersey State Bar Association,” he said. “The past chairs of the land use section have been real leaders in the land use and real estate development community in New Jersey, including a former chair and Day Pitney alum, Glenn Geiger. The current health and social issues of today will have an impact on land use and development in New Jersey, and I look forward to working with the rest of the board of directors of the land use section in the upcoming year.”
