The first residents have arrived at a new 169-unit luxury apartment tower in Jersey City, following the launch of preleasing at the building last fall.
Its developers, Alpine Residential and Fields Grade, said the milestone at 270 Johnston Ave. comes alongside the official launch of leasing. The 24-story building known as Atlas is among the latest additions to the city’s historic but fast-growing Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood, offering a mix of floorplans ranging from studios to three bedrooms.
Monthly rents start at $2,679 with limited-time grand opening incentives.
“This is a very exciting time at Atlas, which has become a trophy high-rise in one of Jersey City’s fast rising neighborhoods,” said William Rosato, managing partner of Alpine Residential. “We’re thrilled to welcome the initial renters and begin the important process of building a community at the building. The first move-ins will help bring Atlas to life as residents begin to actively enjoy its upscale apartments and modern amenities and premium services.”
Designed by MHS Architecture with interiors by GRT Architecture, Atlas is the tallest building in Bergen-Lafayette and draws inspiration from the area’s post-industrial roots while engaging with the Jersey City waterfront and the New York City skyline, according to a news release. Amenities include a high-end fitness center with Cross-Fit equipment, coworking spaces with private offices and a 24th-floor space with views of the Manhattan skyline and perks such as a communal kitchen, a game room and a sky lounge.
Outdoors, residents have access to a landscaped roof deck with grilling stations, dining areas and a plunge pool. The pet-friendly, smoke-free property also has on-site parking, bike storage and TULU, an on-demand smart rental store for household and lifestyle products, as well as ground-level retail space and areas that showcase local artwork.
Atlas is the latest joint venture involving Alpine and Fields Grade, following their completion in 2022 of a 114-unit luxury apartment building less than two blocks away, capitalizing on a location that is just west of downtown Jersey City and steps from restaurants, bars, shops and parks. The neighborhood is also near Liberty State Park’s more than 1,200 acres of open space and other offerings, while providing access to NJ Transit’s Hudson-Bergen Light Rail.
South Oxford Management, an Alpine affiliate, is spearheading leasing and management.
