The owner of the former Toys R Us headquarters site in Wayne has hired Kimmerle Newman Architects to help it reinvent the three-building, 191-acre office campus.
The design firm, which is based in Harding, will work on behalf of Dobco Inc. as it looks to reposition the 603,000-square-foot complex at One Geoffrey Way. It will work alongside a team that also includes JLL and Silbert Realty & Management Co. Inc., which are marketing both office and retail space as part of a new mixed-use concept.
Dobco acquired the well-known campus last summer, following Toys R Us’ bankruptcy and liquidation. The complex, which was built in 1962 and served as the original headquarters for American Cyanamid, was completely renovated when the iconic retailer took occupancy.
One Geoffrey Way sits east of Route 202 and fronts on the Point View Reservoir, on a wooded and rolling site located in the northern end of Wayne.
“Our team, which includes Partners Paul Newman, AIA and William Kimmerle, AIA, is truly looking forward to exploring the wide range of possibilities associated with this wonderful and significant assignment,” said George Kimmerle, KNA’s founding president and partner.
Getinge US, a health care products company, announced in May that it was moving to the campus under a 44,000-square-foot lease with Dobco. The firm said it would move its U.S. sales and service unit to the property, which will also host a new service training center and be home to more than 200 employees.
