A gourmet community market and deli will join the retail mix at the growing Jersey City neighborhood known as SoHo West, where it has leased 5,000 square feet.
Developer Manhattan Building Co. said Thursday that it inked the lease with Fresh Gourmet, which will occupy ground-floor space at 300 Coles St. The store is set to open in fall 2018 and will join services including a Pilates and yoga studio, a bilingual preschool and a coffee bar and restaurant in a neighborhood south of Hoboken and west of the Holland Tunnel.
The neighborhood has started to emerge since the opening of Cast Iron Lofts, a two-phase, 387-unit complex that was completed in early 2016. Last fall, Manhattan Building Co. delivered an additional 377 luxury units across the street at what’s known as Soho Lofts, which is now more than 75 percent leased.
The SoHo West store will be the second Jersey City location for Fresca Gourmet, which offers hot food, deli sandwiches, wraps, salads and other meals and groceries. The operator also has a store at 115 Town Square Place in the city’s Newport neighborhood.
