A developer has debuted more than a dozen multilevel homes at the site of a new condominium project in Jersey City, offering what it says is a taste of brownstone-style living.
The builder, Liberty Harbor North LLC, has released 10 duplex and five triplex residences at Gull’s Cove II in the city’s downtown. Featuring large layouts and separate entrances, the homes are connected to the overall 429-unit Gull’s Cove condominium building at 201 Marin Blvd. and provide access to the complex’s amenities and services.
The duplex residences feature two bedrooms and three baths spread throughout 1,680 square feet, starting at $1.408 million, the developer said in a news release. The five triplexes start at $1.83 million and span three bedrooms, three baths and 2,155 square feet of living space.
“Owning a traditional brownstone or townhouse in an urban environment comes with a lot of maintenance responsibilities, and many of those older homes are design victims of the time they were built, meaning narrow footprints, low ceilings and dark interiors,” Art Johnson, vice president of Liberty Harbor North LLC, said in a prepared statement. “These are new construction residences outfitted with modern finishes and appointments and a more open, loft-like feeling today’s buyers are looking for.”
The two-story homes also include private street entrances and 16-foot ceiling heights on the first floor of the two-bedroom floor plans, while the three-story designs feature balconies and private parking spaces in an enclosed garage, with direct access to the home.
All told, Gull’s Cove is more than 80 percent sold and occupied, with prices starting at $485,000 for the remaining studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom units at its second and final phase.
Designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architects, Gull’s Cove comprises two buildings connected by a ground-level row of public retail and private amenities, the news release said. The complex is steps from a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail stop and a short walk from both NY Waterway ferry service to Manhattan and the Grove Street PATH station.
Each unit includes high-end appliances and finishes, while residents have access to amenities such as a fitness center, a resident’s lounge and children’s playroom, along with a club room with mini bowling lanes and other games. Some homes at Gull’s Cove II feature views of the Manhattan skyline or Liberty State Park.
