Kokes Properties has broken ground on another 40 apartments as part of an ongoing redevelopment project near an NJ Transit light rail stop in Burlington County.
Located along South Fairview Street in Riverside, the property is already home to 86 units that have drawn strong interest from renters. Those include 22 townhomes that were fully leased within three months of opening, along with a 64-unit apartment building that is more than 30 percent preleased ahead of what is slated to be tenant occupancy by Labor Day.
The developer’s newest 40-unit building, which will span 48,000 square feet, will mark the final piece of the first phase at what it calls The Mill at Riverside.
“The project is really shaping up beautifully,” said Michael J. Kokes, president of Brielle-based Kokes Properties. “We are really pleased with the success of leasing and the community we are building here.”
The luxury residential complex has helped revitalize the historic Taubel’s Mill property about a mile and a half from Route 130, whose architecture was inspired by the iconic garment factory complex. In announcing the progress, Kokes said it’s also nearing completion of a clubhouse and amenity hub that will serve residents of the planned 190-unit community.
Located around two blocks from NJ Transit’s River Line, the site is 30 minutes outside Philadelphia and 20 minutes from Cherry Hill, with easy access to highways and other mass transit options. Apartments at the property have upscale design, materials and appliances, while offering flexibility to accommodate remote workers.
“My team and I are very proud of The Mill at Riverside and have high expectations for the positive impact we believe it will create on the surrounding area,” Kokes said. “A lot of effort and meticulous detail has gone into every aspect of this project, and we have confidence that our future residents will recognize and appreciate the value of being able to enjoy high quality housing at an affordable price point.”
