LAN Associates, a full-service architecture and engineering firm, has expanded its footprint with the opening of a new office in southern New Jersey.
The Midland Park-based firm on Monday said it was establishing the new office, located at 1018 Laurel Oak Road in Voorhees, as it continues to grow its presence in the region. In recent years, the practice said it has secured several architect and/or engineer of record contracts from school districts in South Jersey, as well as multiple municipal and private client projects in the area.
The new office is part of a shift in LAN’s business strategy, which includes replacing the firm’s Philadelphia office with two additional locations. The second outpost is in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
“Our southern New Jersey team is taking this step to better serve the clients who have already put their trust in us,” said Ron Schwenke, an architect and senior associate with LAN. “This move also allows us to dedicate LAN’s unique and extensive qualifications to a host of new clients in southern New Jersey. We plan on working with local leaders, not only to improve schools, but to bring LAN’s valuable expertise to an increasing number of public and private projects.”
In announcing the move, LAN said it was already working with Voorhees and neighboring towns such as Haddonfield, Winslow and Monroe Township even before the new office opened its doors. The debut of a physical office was the natural evolution of LAN’s expanding business in the area and a new home for a growing team with ties to the region.
The firm, which was founded in 1965, works in sectors including education, higher education, multifamily, state and municipal government, commercial and religion. It also has an office in Goshen, New York, in addition to its Bergen County headquarters and the new Bethlehem site.
“Despite the challenges that have altered the businesses climate worldwide in 2020, LAN has found success in broadening our market,” said LAN President Ken Karle, who has been with the firm for more than 40 years. “The new office in Voorhees is a prime example of LAN leaning into a demand created by our talented employees and putting our full trust and support behind them.”
