The LeFrak Organization has unveiled the latest piece of its iconic Newport neighborhood in Jersey City, announcing the launch of leasing at a new 336-unit luxury apartment complex.
Located at 180 River Drive, the two-building property is the first to open north of a four-acre waterfront park known as Newport Green. The developer is now seeking to lure renters to the property, known as The Beach, with its upscale design, views of Manhattan and amenities such as a co-working lounge, expansive private outdoor spaces and an outdoor pool.
Monthly rents at the collection of homes, which range from studio to four-bedroom units, begin at $2,450.
“From the outset, our vision for Newport was to create a vibrant, dynamic neighborhood where quality homes, curated retail offerings and beautiful public spaces surrounded by river and skyline views set the stage for a tight-knit community,” said Richard LeFrak, chairman of the LeFrak Organization. “Throughout the past 30 years, Newport has blossomed into the most sought-after place to live in Jersey City. LeFrak said the buildings, designed by HLW Architects, have a wave-like façade with undulating terraces that mimic the rippling water that surrounds the neighborhood. The development comprises two residential towers reaching 12 and 25 stories, with high-end apartments designed by New York-based designer K&Co.
Other amenities include a modern fitness center with a separate fitness studio, a landscaped dog run, a children’s playroom and a game room, according to a news release. Also outdoors, The Beach has spaces such as a landscaped waterfront courtyard with grilling stations and fire pits, an outdoor pool and sun deck and a sixth-floor roof deck with multiple seating areas.
