A family-owned Hallmark store has renewed and expanded its lease at a Bridgewater shopping center, under a transaction arranged by Levin Management Corp.
In a news release, LMC said Norman’s Hallmark is taking an additional 1,500 square feet at the Somerset Shopping Center at the junction of routes 202/206 and 28. Its total footprint is now 6,000 square feet, which has allowed the operator to modernize its displays and improve its layout.
LMC’s Vanessa Fernandez-Kelty arranged the renewal.
“When tenants grow and thrive — particularly in a challenging retail climate — it’s exciting news,” said Fernandez-Kelty, a senior leasing representative. “With this expansion, Norman’s Hallmark offers an even more inviting and easy-to-shop store design. The success that Norman’s Hallmark has seen at Somerset Shopping Center testifies to this property’s position as a key local shopping destination, and we are pleased to have them remain a tenant for years to come.”
LMC leases and manages the 219,000-square-foot shopping center, which is home to retailers, restaurants and service providers such as Christmas Tree Shops, Barnes & Noble, Gap, Pupcakes and Pawstries Barkery and Shoppe, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa and others. The Hallmark location, which also carries ornaments, gifts and specialty food items, recently introduced curbside pickup through hallmark.com to help drive business during the pandemic.
“The larger space also allows us to improve the way we display our merchandise and creates a wonderful shopping environment for customers,” Norman’s Hallmark CEO Howard Henschel said. “We have a strong customer base at this Bridgewater location and are pleased to be expanding here with one of our new, full-line stores.”
The deal is LMC’s second recent renewal and expansion with Norman’s Hallmark, the largest independent Gold Crown chain in the U.S., the news release said. Last fall, Norman’s celebrated the grand opening of a relocated and expanded store at Hamilton Plaza in Hamilton.
